With intuitive operation and convenient functions, the JVC GR-D396 MiniDV Camcorder offers new possibilities when recording your memories. For an affordable digital camcorder that is ready-to-go right out of the box, the GR-D396 comes with a rich variety of features, in an incredibly compact package.
The JVC GR-D396 features a 2.5-inch color LCD display that lets you clearly see what you are shooting from virtually any angle, and supports a 16:9 widescreen format that is perfect for panoramic views and portraits of the entire family. This camcorder also features an amazing 32x optical and 800x digital zoom, so you can get crystal-clear images of whatever you need, no matter how far away you might be. This unit includes an SD/MMC card slot that allows you to increase its storage and easily transfer your video files to your PC and other places, as well as a Firewire connector so you can quickly download your videos to any computer with a compatible connecting port for editing or storage. The JVC GR-D396 also has electronic image stabilization for when your hand is less than steady, a NightAlive mode that allows you to keep shooting in low-light conditions, and a remote control for when you need to be in the shot as well.
The GR-D396 utilizes a 1/6-inch CCD image sensor with 680,000 effective pixels, and a 2.3 to 73.6 millimeter f2.0 lens with a 27-millimeter diameter filter. This unit records with the NTSC system in MiniDV format, and includes an electronic viewfinder with a 0.33-inch color LCD screen. This camcorder supports PCM digital audio recording, date and time coding, and audio/video dubbing capabilities. The GR-D396 features auto and manual controls for focus, exposure, iris, shutter and white balance, a built-in LED light with a 5-foot effective distance, and a built-in microphone and monaural speaker. This camera includes digital effects such as sepia, monotone, classic, strobe, sports, snow and twilight, as well as a fader with white, black, slide and scroll. Tape loading is automatic in this unit, which has a resolution of 520 lines, and 640 x 480 pixels. The JVC GR-D396 includes an IEEE 1394 Firewire input/output, a USB input/output, and a composite AV output for connecting to external devices, and runs on 110 to 240 volts of AC power. This camcorder weighs approximately 1.06 pounds with battery, cassette and lens cap, measures 2.3 x 3.7 x 4.5 inches (W x H x D), and is backed by a 1-year parts and 3-months labor limited manufacturer's warranty.
