Fujifilm FinePix 30i Fujifilm FinePix 30i

The Fujifilm FinePix 30i isn't quite as small as the Casio Exilim EX-M1 and it isn't quite as cool as the Nikon Coolpix 2500. But like the Exilim, the 30i offers an MP3 playback feature that will be a hit if you want to carry just one toy.

FujiFilm FinePix A310 FujiFilm FinePix A310

The A310 is a conventional-looking, silver-colored point-and-shoot compact camera with an all-plastic body, a finger grip that doubles as the power switch, and a sliding metal disc that protects the 3X zoom lens while recessed. The unit comes equipped with a 1.5-inch LCD viewfinder and a fairly accurate optical viewfinder. You save images to an xD-Picture Card (one 16MB card is included). The camera is powered by two double-A batteries. A handful of controls are scattered haphazardly on the unit, and for the most part are confusing or poorly identified. The memory card/battery compartment door on the bottom of the camera lacks a safety catch to prevent the batteries from falling out when the door is opened. The USB port is positioned on the side of the camera, so it can nestle into the unit's optional cradle/charger.

Fujifilm FinePix E550 Fujifilm FinePix E550

The Fujifilm FinePix E550 6.3MP compact boots as fast as any digital camera we've tested (aside from digital SLRs). Focus is quick and there's hardly any lag on the shutter release or from shot to shot, as long as you're shooting without flash. The E550 uses Fujifilm's own SuperCCD HR sensor, which competes well with the spate of 7MP cameras recently released on the market, especially when shooting at the intelligently interpolated 12MP mode. We're quite enamored of the E550, which takes very good images with little fuss. And at $499, this camera is such a great deal that it's an Editors' Choice for compact cameras. More
